Breaking: Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog suspended 4 games

The National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today that Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog has been suspended 4 games, without pay, for cross-checking Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk.

The incident occurred on Saturday with 4:42 remaining in the 1st period. Landeskog was given a 2 minute minor for cross-checking. 
Landeskog will forfeit $119,815.68 based on his annual salary and under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Landeskog will miss the following games:

November 29th: VS Winnipeg

December 1st: VS New Jersey

December 3rd: VS Dallas

December 5th: VS Buffalo

  1. Hey man, read your post on topps skate and figured I’d hop over here and see what you’ve put together. I like how you kept it short and sweet, while giving all of the necessary and pertinent information. Adding which games will be missed as a result of the suspension and how much salary will be forfeited (as well as why it is forfeited) was a great add and would help to clarify the repercussions of Landeskogs offense to a casual fan. Overall I found this to be a fantastic article!
