With Dale Earnhardt Jr, Danica Patrick and what sounds like Matt Kenseth stepping away from the 2018 NASCAR Monster Energy season, what will everything look like? It’ll actually look a lot different.
Some drivers have yet to finish out contracts like Kurt Busch and others yet to find a ride. There’s also a few drivers changing teams and new young guns coming up from the Xfinity Series.
Next season look for Ryan Blaney in the number 12 car of Team Penske and Paul Menard take over at the Wood Brothers. Menard’s 27 car has yet to be filled. Look for Eric Jones taking over Matt Kenseth’s 20 car as the 77 car will not be filled next season. Aric Almirola will be taking over the 10 car at Stewart-HAAS Racing. Kasey Kahne is leaving Hendrick Motorsports and taking over Michael McDowell’s 95 car.
Since the 88 and 5 car will be open for Hendrick Motorsports next season, Alex Bowman will be filling big shoes for the departure of Dale Earnhardt Jr in the 88. Since Chase Elliott will be switching from the 24 car to 9, rookie William Byron will be taking over the iconic 24 car. He is coming from the Xfinity Series where he won the championship holding off veteran driver Eliot Sadler.
