NHL opens application process for possible Seattle team, Wheeler rips Panthers ice, more

Gary Bettman said in a press conference Thursday that the NHL Board of Governors has agreed to consider an application for an NHL expansion team in Seattle. Bettman said the expansion fee would be $650 million, which is $150 million more than the Vegas Golden Knights paid. If the team is approved they would most likley arrive for the 2020-21 season.

Jets forward Blake Wheeler ripped the Florida Panthers ice Thursday. Due to the warm climate in Florida, the ice isn’t always in best shape. “We’d be better off going out to the parking lot and playing roller hockey” Wheeler said Thursday.

Today the Chicago Blackhawks announced that they have taken Goaltender Corey Crawford off of IR for tonight’s game vs the Buffalo Sabres. With Crawford back the Blackhawks look to snap their 5 game losing streak. This year Crawford is 11-7-2 with a 2.29 Goals Against Average and a .930 save percentage.
